Dental Implants

What are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a durable restoration that can help replace areas of missing teeth in the mouth. Implants can be used to hold crowns, bridge work, and even complete dentures, keeping them in place when existing dentition is lacking. Implants can last for two or three decades without showing any signs of disrepair. They are easy to place, and can restore your entire smile so that it looks full and healthy.

Why are Dental Implants needed?

You may need or want implants because you’re missing one or more teeth. For patients who are missing just a single tooth, the implant prevents the need to compromise surrounding teeth for other restoration options. For patients who are missing multiple teeth, one or more implants can be used to hold in a bridge or denture appliance. Implants will fuse naturally with your body by bonding with surrounding bone structure.

“I’m very happy with the staff and doctor. I don’t have insurance but do not pay expensive price. Excellent attention of the all team…”

Who’s a candidate for Dental Implants?

In order for implants to heal successfully, you need to have enough healthy bone mass in the area they’ll be placed in. If you don’t, we may suggest having a bone grafting performed to build up this particular area of the mouth. The majority of our patients who would like implants to be placed can safely have the surgery done in our office. The procedure is worthwhile, as you’ll enjoy decades of a full, healthy smile.

What happens during the procedure for Dental Implants?

Dr. Ghosh will first consult with you by performing an examination and going over your medical history. The procedure itself involves inserting a titanium implant into the jaw bone and suturing the gums, if needed. You will come back in sporadically to ensure that the implant is healing correctly. Once healed, a new crown, denture, or fixed bridge is made for the implants, and put into place. Most implants will heal completely in roughly six months before any additional work can be done.
